Due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 situation, the LOC has taken the decision to postpone the convention until September 2021. New conference dates will be advised as soon as possible.
WELCOME TO THE
SOUTH AFRICAN PRINCIPALS ASSOCIATION (SAPA)
NATIONAL CONFERENCE 2021
MESSAGE FROM THE SAPA NATIONAL PRESIDENT
Dear SAPA Members and Non Members
Who would have thought that for the first time ever, SAPA is postponing its National Conference. We were so looking forward to this year’s conference in Kimberley. Lebo and his organising team were at an advanced stage in their planning for this year. As the National President, I had been up to visit the conference venue and meet with the local organising committee. I was extremely impressed with his team and the work they had done.
It comes as a massive disappointment when we face the reality, that due to a world wide pandemic, we would not be able to hold the conference any time this year. Initially we had hopes that we could postpone it a few weeks and then months, to still try and hold it in 2020. However, as the spread of the virus grew, the reality of the situation in our country became apparent. We had to make the hard decision to postpone this conference to September 2021.
I am therefore asking that you maintain your enthusiasm for the first ever SAPA National Conference in Kimberley in September 2021. The exact date will be decided on when the DBE confirms that it will be sticking to the 2021 term calendar that was published before the Covid-19 pandemic.
All the best as you start your schools up again.
Regards
DAVID DE KORTE
SAPA National President
